This is an exciting cycling event that, from the 3rd to the 6th of February, will pass through some of the most spectacular destinations in the province, allowing participants to combine their two great passions: tourism and mountain biking.
Fuerte El Rompido, which has its own cycling centre, will act as the base hotel, with 2 of the 4 championship races starting from there.
17 January 2021. The natural and scenic diversity of Huelva, with areas of forest alternating with spectacular beaches and dry land, a reminder of its mining and industrial past, make it the perfect destination for mountain biking. And this is why it’s been chosen to host such an important international event: The Legend of Tartessos. The championships will take place from the 3rd to the 6th of February and will combine three marathon races of 62, 70 and 90 kilometres, as well as a 25-kilometre time trial.
The first and last stages will set off from Fuerte El Rompido, a cycle-friendly hotel with its own cycling centre, and which will act as the base hotel for this important sporting event of intermediate physical and technical difficulty.
The organisers offer the possibility of taking part in the full 4-day Marathon, or only on the 5th and 6th of February in the Weekend Challenge. The races will be governed according to UCI regulations and will include an Elite category for professionals as well as 3 Masters (30, 40 and 50) for amateurs, all of them in men’s and women’s categories.
Those who take part in the complete championship will have the opportunity to discover 4 of the most beautiful routes in the province of Huelva: the Ruta de la Luz, the Ruta de la Frontera, the Ruta del Metal and the Crono del Atlántico, each day passing through incredibly different areas, each with their own personality.
