Over its more than 60 years of history, Fuerte Group Hotels has maintained a strong commitment to sustainable tourism. This is evidenced by the projects it develops each season, dedicated to environmental protection, cultural and socio-economic issues, with the goal of leaving a better world for future generations.
Recovery of a Forest in Casarabonela
At Fuerte Group Hotels, we reinforce our commitment to the environment by collaborating with the Folia Project. Employees and volunteers have participated in the reforestation of 1 hectare in Casarabonela, Málaga, restoring a forest affected by a fire in 2009.
In this way, 450 native trees, such as Aleppo pine and juniper, have been planted, which will help absorb 36 tons of CO₂ over 50 years. The project is supported by the Casarabonela City Council and the Ministry of Environment of the Andalusian Government.
Reforestation in Marbella
Last year, Fuerte Group Hotels began reforesting over 20 hectares in the Marbella area with carob trees, a native species.
A year later, these trees are still being cared for almost entirely by hand, replacing those that did not survive and working to ensure that all continue to grow and regenerate the ecosystem.

At Fuerte Group Hotels, we strengthen our commitment to the environment and its impact on our lives through collaboration with the Folia Project.
With this goal in mind, we work to reduce our carbon footprint and contribute to the protection of the natural environment through volunteer initiatives and forest reforestation efforts in areas in need. This synergy between brands is brought to life in a reforestation project spanning 1.16 hectares in the municipality of Teba, Málaga, where employees and volunteers actively participate in the planting and care of trees.

Removal of more than 2 tons of plastic from the Mediterranean Sea
Plastic pollution in seas and oceans represents one of the most significant challenges of our time, and for this reason, we joined forces with Gravity Wave to take action.
In this way, we managed to remove more than 2 tons of plastic from the Mediterranean Sea, raise awareness about the importance of taking action against plastic pollution, and protect these invaluable marine environments.

Collaboration with the Fuerte Foundation
Since Fuerte Hoteles was founded in 1957, the Fuerte Foundation has been responsible for supporting the brand in the implementation of initiatives that foster the social and cultural development of its guests, staff and areas in which the hotels are located.
The body is currently led by the President and Members of the Board of Directors of Fuerte Group Hotels and has been working for more than 60 years under its slogan We look after both people and the environment.
